I have had 3 poodles over the years, all coming from a breeder. I was always afraid to get one from a rescue organization or pound. About a year ago, my daughter found the wonderful organization called Rescue for Love, and adopted a
Spaniel type from them. He has been a wonderful blessing, and a perfect little companion, going to work with her every day. My third poodle is now 15, and quite frail, so I decided to get another dog "eventually." I told Rescue for Love to look for a small dog for me, thinking it would take a long time. Lo and behold, the next week, a precious little Yorkie appeared, and I could not resist his charms. A wonderful 5 year old little gem, carefully screened and vetted by the organization. I have had him several months now, and couldn't be happier. My poodle fully accepts him and they are buddies. I think he had pepped her up a little. He is perfect for my lifestyle, and situation.

Who could have dumped this wonderful dog at a kill shelter in South Carolina? We are so grateful Angel was saved by Rescue for Love. In March of this year, we drove over two and a half hours from New Jersey to adopt her and she was worth every mile on the highway. After just a couple of months of healthy eating, her wonderful white coat has filled-out and we can no longer feel her ribs
every time we hug her. Her name suits her perfectly, in part because of her color, but also because she is such a happy, loving creature. She is also a great companion for our shelter cat, Cassie. We may have rescued her, but she rescued us right back!

It all started at a Hudson Valley Renegade game in August 2010. Shea (formerly Brenna) was there with her sister Blair. It had been ten years since our dog Secret had passed and I felt we were ready to embrace a new dog in our lives. Talk about love at first sight! I held her in my arms and felt a connection with her right away! I sat in my seat at the game busily typing away on my phone to complete the application. We brought Shea home on September 13th. Shea has been a blessing, and a joy. Part border collie and part lab, she's very active and loves to run. A social butterfly, she's made several puppy pals in the neighborhood that she adores playtime with. She has several "jobs" around the house which keeps her occupied such as bringing in the morning paper, bringing laundry from the dryer to me, and opening the blinds in the morning. Shea loves to stay busy and we love teaching her new "tricks". Shea likes to lounge in the morning on her big doggie pillow, and play field hockey with my daughter. She's friendly and charming, and an absolutely beautiful addition to our family. Her first visit to the veterinarian, the staff fell in love with her and let her run around in the back while they gave her treats and a ton of attention. Shea enjoyed her first Christmas! Santa was very good to her. I'm sending pictures of her and wish everyone at Rescue for Love a happy holiday season!!
